BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Orchard Park Central School District unveiled a newly designed playground aimed at inclusion.

Ellicott Elementary School’s newest pieces of equipment are called the We-Go-Round and Sway Fun Glider. The We-Go-Round has all flat surfaces for entry and plenty of room to park while other students pile aboard. The Sway Fun Glider is accessible by ramp and takes a team to rock band and forth.

"Equipment wise, students can be in proximity with their peers, but they’re not always able to participate in different activities. And that was our goal here with pieces of accessible equipment," said Superintendent David Lilleck.

Fourth graders swarmed their classmate Easton Jordan on the new rides as he beamed, up close to the fun.

Orchard Park CSD plans to incorporate more inclusive equipment into other playgrounds in the future.
