BUFFALO, N.Y. — ​There's new affordable housing for seniors in Buffalo.

The Buffalo Federation of neighborhood Centers is celebrating the opening of the Westminster Commons.

The complex was built around the second oldest settlement house in the U.S. The 1894 Westminster Settlement House has been transformed into a community service facility, providing supportive services to residents.

All 84 apartments are affordable to households earning at, or below, 60% of the area median income.

Forty apartments are reserved for seniors with a history of mental illness.
