ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Some confusion on masking at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo, where fans are preparing to see Billy Joel this weekend.

This comes after the Erie County Department of Health reminded concert-goers anyone entering a county facility or building is required to wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status.

Highmark Stadium is owned by the county, and that means fans will need to mask up while sitting in their seats or walking the concourses and other indoor areas during the concert.

And then later, the Buffalo Bills put out a statement saying fully vaccinated fans would not be required to wear masks in outdoor areas.

The Bills then put out a statement Wednesday evening, saying fully vaccinated fans would not be required to wear masks in outdoor areas.

Spectrum News 1 has reached out to team representatives and county health officials to clarify if those outdoor areas include open-air seating for the concert.

Gates open at 6 p.m. Saturday before the Piano Man takes the stage at 8 p.m. Parking lots open at 4 p.m.

And don’t forget your mask.
