TEXAS — Uber Technologies and Costco are making it easier for you to get your groceries. The ride-sharing company and membership-only big-box retailer have teamed up and are launching a pilot grocery-delivery program at 25 different locations across Texas. The plan is for groceries to be delivered via Uber and UberEats within hours or even minutes.

Seven more Costco locations will be available to users on the Uber and UberEats app in the upcoming weeks. The minimum order amount is $35. If you have an Uber pass or Eats pass, delivery is free. This is Uber’s first pilot with a food wholesaler in the country.

This announcement follows Uber’s recent and first grocery store partnership with Albertson’s Co.

Launching during the pandemic last July, Uber has seen increased usage in its grocery category in cities across the United States, including San Francisco, Phoenix, Miami, Dallas and New York City.

"One thing we know to be true is that people across the United States are looking for convenient and affordable ways to stock their pantries without leaving home—especially for last-minute must-have items," said Raj Beri, Uber's Head of Grocery Delivery. "Today's announcement with Costco is an important step towards marrying the magic of wholesale retail with on-demand delivery in the palm of your hand, and I'm thrilled that Texans are getting a first look at what's to come."

Shoppers in Dallas, Austin and Houston can start ordering Costco groceries on Uber Wednesday, July 21.
