GOWANDA, N.Y. — The VA of Western New York is making it easier for veterans living there to have access to health care.

It's possible thanks to a new telehealth access station at VFW Post 5007 in Gowanda.

The site will offer veterans a comfortable setting where they can meet virtually with VA care providers. They'll do so by using the department's secure video conferencing app.

It's available for any service which doesn't require a hands-on exam, including primary care visits, mental health appointments and social work assistance.

The Gowanda location is the first of its kind in New York and one of only 11 similar sites across the country.
