BUFFALO, N.Y. — A mobile soup kitchen is one step closer to opening a permanent food pantry in Buffalo's Riverside neighborhood.
Hearts for the Homeless teamed with Frank's Basement Systems Saturday on Tonawanda Street.
The Frank's crew donated their time and installed drain tile, a sump pump and cleaned the walls of the future food pantry. Hearts for the Homeless says its been working to rehabilitate the building for more than two years.
The faith-based nonprofit was founded in 1990 to help people experiencing chronic homelessness and serves more than 11,000 Western New Yorkers annually.
