LEWSITON, N.Y. — More people who are struggling with substance abuse can now get help in Western New York through Clearview Treatment Services.

A renovated treatment unit at Mt. Saint Mary’s Hospital is now up and running.

There are an additional 24 beds for the inpatient rehabilitation program, which brings the total capacity for the Lewiston facility to 69 beds.

Counselors are seeing a growing need for inpatient treatment.

The expansion will allow Clearview to provide gender-specific living spaces and programming.

"A lot of times, women will come into our program and they will have experienced significant trauma, whether it through domestic violence or sexual abuse or a number of other things, and being in a co-ed environment can cause some re-traumatization and we want to give them the best avenues to be able to treat those parts of their life," Deborah Schultz, Clearview Treatment Services director, said.

Treatment services include one-on-one sessions and group counseling.
