NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The Niagara Falls State Park has a new trail system to explore, and it offers a gorgeous background.

It’s the largest expansion to the park since it opened in 1885.

The project removed a two-mile stretch of the former Robert Moses Parkway, from Main Street to Findlay Drive.

There is also a new green space in Niagara Falls State Park, appropriately named Gorgeview.

Visitors can now enjoy picnic areas, scenic overlooks and several trails.

Money for the $50 million project came from the New York Power Authority and the state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
