SILVER CREEK, N.Y. — Dustin Post, 25, of Silver Creek, is accused of sexually abusing seven different children.

He pleaded guilty on Monday to federal charges of production and possession of child pornography.

An indictment unsealed in Chautauqua County court now outlines state charges against Post, including predatory sexual assault against a child and rape.

Prosecutors say the oldest victim was 12 years old and the youngest was 1.

The alleged sexual abuse happened between September 2015 and August 2019.

Chautauqua County District Attorney Jason Schmidt says he understands how difficult it is for victims and their families to come forward.

"You've got children who are traumatized," he said. "You've got families who are traumatized, and to have to relive these events. It's such a difficult endeavor. Generally speaking, we are always concerned about empowering our victims and giving them a voice to be heard here. We haven't pushed them to go forward. We want them to make that decision. That's a very personal decision, and that's not something that comes lightly in each case."

Post will be sentenced on the federal charges in October.

He pleaded not guilty to the new state charges.

Prosecutors say there may be other victims, and encourage anyone with information to call the Chautauqua County DA's Office at 716-753-4241.
