BUFFALO, N.Y. — Best Self Behavioral Health is relocating and expanding in downtown Buffalo in an effort to better serve Western New York.

The organization announced plans Thursday to transform 899 Main Street into its new corporate headquarters and its new child advocacy center.

With plans to complete the $20 million project in 2023, the advocacy center is being touted as a collaborative space for all parties in Western New York. This includes space for all local police departments, attorneys and medical professionals to make sure a child will only need to tell their story once.

"So here at this location, we’ll be able to serve the 3,000 children who have been sexually and physically abused in our community per year here as opposed to the only 1,000 that we’re able to serve at the moment," Elizabeth Woike-Ganga, Best-Self’s president and CEO, said.

Best Self says it chose this new location for main two reasons – it’s ease of access for staff and clients, thanks to local bus lines, and because it’s a sign of the organization’s dedication to the city of Buffalo’s growth.
