The Erie County District Attorney's Office is helping University Police at SUNY Buffalo State College investigate the disappearance of sophomore Saniyya Dennis.

The 19-year-old was leaving Bishop Hall around 11 p.m. on Saturday, April 24. University Police say moments later she was seen on video near the college's performing arts center near Elmwood Avenue. Authorities tell Spectrum News her cell phone pinged off a tower in Niagara Falls near Goat Island just after 1:20 a.m. on April 25.

They say there has been no cell phone or financial activity since.

Her father, Calvin Byrd, believes she took an NFTA bus to the Falls and walked along Old Falls Street to get to Niagara Falls State Park.

He's pleading for anyone who may have seen Saniyya that night to come forward.

"To me, there is nothing more important than this,” said Byrd. “This is every parent’s worst nightmare. She deserves to have a full investigation where people are going hard to find my kid."

If you know anything, you are asked to call University Police at 716-878-6333.
