HAMBURG, N.Y. — Students in the Hamburg Central School District will soon return to full-time in-person attendance.

The tentative return date is Monday, April 26.

In a letter sent to families, Superintendent Michael Cornell argues the CDC updated its guidance, but New York hasn't since August of last year.

Students who are strictly remote right now are able to stay remote through the end of the year.

Cornell says the date of April 26, which is contingent on updated guidance from the state health department, was chosen because it allows for adjustments to be made to schedules, classrooms, bus routes, and more.

The district says it will be in touch with families about any potential changes.
