BUFFALO, N.Y. — Members of the Buffalo Police Department are mourning the death of a fellow officer.
Sean Godios passed away Friday, an officer who the police union says served Buffalo with honor for more than six years.
Godios was a graduate of Bishop Timon-St. Jude High School.
The BPA issued a statement that said in part:
"This past year has been challenging for all of us, especially the men and women of the Buffalo Police Department. During this time of immense grief, we hope the community can come together to honor this fallen hero and the men and women who keep us safe."
Calling hours will be held for Officer Godios at the James W. Cannan Funeral Home on Orchard Park from 3 – 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Abbott Road.
Anyone wishing to send flowers is asked instead to donate to the Buffalo Police Underwater Rescue Team.
