BUFFALO, N.Y. — It’s Black Restaurant Week in Buffalo and minority-owned businesses across the city are depending on your support.
More than a dozen local eateries are offering delicious deals priced at just $20.21 this week. That includes Cake Crazy & Gourmet Catering on William Street and La Verdad Café on East Lovejoy Street.
Black Restaurant Week is in its fourth year of helping fuel diversity and entrepreneurship in the city.
Participating owners say that goal is especially important this year with businesses and families struggling through the ongoing pandemic.
“We are a small bunch and just like they say, it takes a village to raise a child, we need a village to support us, the Black restaurants and bakeries and things. We need everyone to support us, to maintain and be successful,” Shetice Jackson, of Cake Crazy Bakery & Gourmet Catering, said.
“Come out and support all of us, you know, we just want everyone to be supportive and help each other through this whole pandemic and through Black Restaurant Week. And it’s not based on color, it’s just some name they came up with to support each other,” Vivian Robinson from La Verdad Café said.
Black Restaurant Week is presented by the Buffalo Urban League Young Professional and continues through next Sunday.
