AUSTIN, Texas – The Austin Independent School District is asking parents of kids in one elementary school to keep their students home on Friday. A gas leak forced Allison Elementary School, located at 515 Vargas Rd. in Austin, to close its doors.

According to the district, students who are unable to stay home for remote learning will be transported to a different campus for the school day.

The district did not say how long they anticipate it will take to fix the gas leak, nor what campus students who did go to the school would be taken to.
