Another small COVID-19 cluster has hit the Tanglewood Group in the Southern Tier. This time, The Magnolia in Frewsburg, at a time when the state is expanding its vaccine distribution.

"There's no way to stop this thing because it's so contagious," said Nick Ferrari, Tanglewood Group owner.

Ferrari is monitoring another COVID-19 outbreak, this time at The Magnolia in Frewsburg, after recent outbreaks at Tanglewood Manor and Memory Garden in Jamestown, and Field of Dreams in the village of Allegany.

Ferrari says this latest case involves a young staff member who caught it from his family and brought it in.

"So, were having a little bit of a scenario there but again we're going to do the same thing as we've done in the other places and it'll clear out," said Ferrari.

The outbreak comes as Governor Andrew Cuomo expanded the priority populations to receive both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

Cuomo says nursing homes and assisted living facilities will now begin administering the vaccination over a six-week period.

"More vaccines are coming every day, 346,000 Moderna coming this week, 120,000 more Pfizer doses coming this week. We expect to have a total of 630,000 doses by this week," said Cuomo.

"You know, we want this thing to end," said Ferrari.

Ferrari says while there is no timetable yet for the Tanglewood Group, he will strongly urge the staff to get vaccinated.

He says while it is not required, he'll also work with residents and family members, and leave the decision up to them.

"And it's sad to see them talking through the window and having tears in their eyes. And we also want to get our residents back to normal where they can socialize and have visitors. And open up day care and respite care. Do all those things for the senior population who I think has suffered the most," said Ferrari.

There is no word on how many of the 12 cases reported in Frewsburg Monday are related to The Magnolia.
