BUFFALO, N.Y. — As more Western New Yorkers struggle with food insecurity during the pandemic, many may not be able to put food on their table this holiday season. As many as one in six people in FeedMore WNY’s four-county service area may struggle with hunger.

The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority is teaming up with Feedmore Western New York to help. It's holding a food drive that's running throughout the holiday season.

The downtown Buffalo bus station is just one place you can drop a donation off. They’re accepting non-perishable items and already they’ve collected a few bins of food. They’re looking to keep this drive going throughout the holiday season, but if you don’t feel comfortable coming inside a drop off location, there are other ways to help.

"Not only can you come and drop off physically at locations but you can also go online and make a donation through the portal that they have. And what I really love about that is you can see the food and know exactly what you are getting, which is really helpful to people," said Helen Tederous, NFTA director of public affairs.

Here are the three drop-off location locations:

  • NFTA Station, Ellicott Street, Downtown Buffalo
  • Buffalo Airport Fire House
  • FeedMore WNY warehouse, Holt Street
