HAYS COUNTY, Texas — Following news that the FBI is looking into an incident on Friday in which it appeared supporters of President Donald Trump surrounded a Biden-Harris campaign bus in Texas in an intimidating manner, the president took to Twitter in defense of his supporters.
On Sunday, Trump wrote, “In my opinion, these patriots did nothing wrong. Instead, the FBI & Justice should be investigating the terrorists, anarchists, and agitators of ANTIFA, who run around burning down our Democrat run cities and hurting our people!”
A Biden campaign staffer said nearly 100 vehicles were involved in the incident on Friday. It slowed the Biden tour bus to roughly 20 mph on Interstate 35 through Hays County, the Texas Tribune reported.

CNN said staffers on the bus called 911, which eventually led to local law enforcement assisting the bus to its destination. Biden campaign officials described the incident as an attempt to run the bus off the road.
The event caused at least one minor crash and prompted Texas Democrats to cancel three campaign events on Friday over safety concerns.
On Monday morning, Trump again defended those involved, writing, “This story is FALSE. They did nothing wrong. But the ANTIFA Anarchists, Rioters and Looters, who have caused so much harm and destruction in Democrat run cities, are being seriously looked at!”
