LOVEJOY, N.Y. — The Lovejoy community in Buffalo has a longtime tradition of passing out candy on Beggars Night. This year, the neighborhood continued that tradition, in a socially distant way.

The Lovejoy Village Association made hundreds of goody bags for kids to pick up.

The Buffalo neighborhood has been having a Halloween parade for nearly 80 years.

This year, they had to cancel it because of the pandemic. But they still wanted to do something for Beggars night.

"Lovejoy's always had a tradition of passing out [candy] on Beggars Night because when we get into passing out candy, we want to truly get into passing out candy. People in Lovejoy reserve our Halloween to go out and trick or treat elsewhere," Philip Beavers of the Lovejoy Village Association said.

In case you didn't know, Beggars Night is celebrated the night before Halloween.
