BUFFALO, N.Y. — Eight men and women will now be a part of a new behavioral health team for the Buffalo Police Department.

The team is part of the Buffalo Police Reform Agenda.

Mayor Byron Brown posted this picture to Facebook of their graduation.

Brown says they'll use their skills to work with clinicians at Endeavor Health Services on mental health calls. He says the goal is to de-escalate situations and help people in distress, by connecting them to mental health, substance abuse and homelessness services.
