BUFFALO, N.Y. — Welcome to the future student lounge at Bryant and Stratton College's new facility on Broadway. It's not a bad view either, as stilts are required though if you want to walk these halls, at least for now.

What You Need To Know

  • Bryant and Stratton College will open new downtown Buffalocampus in November

  • It's been 22 years since a new downtown campus was built

  • Location on 110 Broadway offers an open concept perfect for social distancing

  • 14 classrooms, two medical labs, a library and an E-Sports lounge

"It's been 22 years since we relocated the Buffalo campus," Jeff Tredo, director of WNY Campuses for Bryant and Stratton College said.

The roughly 23,000 square foot space will fit about 400 students. It's design plan wasn't created with a pandemic in mind, but the open floor plan certainly offers a space for social distancing.

"We have about 14 classrooms, two medical labs, library and then office spaces," Tredo said.

What's really new is the E-Sports lounge. This is the first year of the team.

The average age of a student is 28, so Tredo and the rest of the staff know their students probably have other daily tasks to tend to. About a year-and-a-half before the pandemic, Tredo says staff was already in training to prepare for a blended learning format. It was all in an effort to make higher education more accessible. He believes we'll see a shift across the board to keep hybrid models.

"I think those lessons and those investments made will continue and help provide flexibly in higher education, so that students can pursue their programs in ways and in means that support their personal needs," Tredo said.

The school year is broken up into three semesters, so there are plenty of opportunities to go out and get a higher education.
