BUFFALO, N.Y. — National Night Out in Buffalo is forgoing its carnival atmosphere and is going virtual this year because of COVID-19.
The event happens Tuesday evening from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. via video conference.
The goal of the event is to build neighborhood trust and friendship, while strengthening relationships between the community, local police, and firefighters.
In a show of solidarity and celebration, the city of Buffalo is asking everyone taking part to turn on their porch lights at 7 p.m.
Buffalo City Hall will also be lit in red, white, and blue.
