BUFFALO, N.Y. — You will be able to dine in comfort outdoors for at least a few more weeks in the city of Buffalo.

The city is now allowing restaurants to use propane heaters outside to help them follow coronavirus guidelines as the weather gets colder.

The heaters can be used on sidewalks, parking lots and patios, but only in areas that are not enclosed.

Patios with roofs made of metal or other non-combustible material may take advantage of the heaters, as long as the space is not walled off.

All businesses must contact the city of Buffalo Office of Fire Prevention to receive a permit before a propane heater can be used.
