A Buffalo man learned his fate Wednesday for assaulting a Veterans Affairs police officer. Darnell Curry, 27, will spend 6 months in prison.

Authorities say that back in February, Curry allegedly got into an argument with an employee at a Starbucks inside the Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Bailey Avenue. Three Department of Veterans Affairs Police officers responded to the incident.

When the defendant did not hear or acknowledge verbal commands, an officer touched Curry's shoulder. A scuffle with the officers then ensued, and Curry hit an officer in the head. He then resisted arrest.
