A job-training center on Bufalo's East Side wants to make sure more of its students enter the workforce.

The Northland Workforce Training Center has new partnerships to help with that.

Those partners include Remedy Intelligent Staffing, The Local Initiatives Support Corporation, and Cicatelli Associates Inc.

They'll give students access to a professional employment agency, financial empowerment training, smoking cessation education, and advanced training.

Northland was created during New York State's Buffalo Billion.

In the last two years, it has enrolled more than 200 students with 50-percent minority representation.

"With such challenging new realities, we must continue to work together to provide pathways to good employment for all of the members of our community,” said Mayor Byron Brown, (D).

Northland is recruiting for the spring semester, which begins in January.
