Thermal body scanners are now the new normal, and are popping in businesses as well as health care clinics.
As soon as a patient walks into the Urban Family Practice Clinics, the scanner measures their body temperature and tells them if it is normal or not.
"We developed a different system," said Dr. Raul Vazquez, CEO of The Greater Buffalo United Accountable Healthcare Network. "Anyone with fevers we are keeping them out, getting them in quarantine and getting them telehealth."

Dr. Vazquez has incorporated the scanners as part of security at his clinics.
"Just to reduce the risk into the building," he adds.
Dr. Vazquez says this type of screening will be the new normal. He purchased five of the scanners for his clinics.
HarpData sells and services the scanners for $2,500. CEO Ivory Robinson says he recently sold the devices to Buffalo City Hall, M&T Bank and Community Health.
"These thermal scanners are really going to be the next wave of PPE," said Robinson. "Right now with everything that is going on, it has really become a necessity for organizations that want to get back to work and keep their patients, clients and customers safe."
