Erie County Democrats have chosen candidates for several upcoming races.
The committee is backing Nate McMurray for the 27th congressional district seat, both in an April a special election and the general election in November.
McMurray would still need the endorsement of all the county chairs in the district to get his name on the ballot in April. The eight Democratic county chairs still need to take a weighted vote to designate McMurray to appear on the ballot for the special election.
The governor’s office has indicated he’ll call that election for April 28.
The committee is backing incumbent Brian Higgins in New York's 26th congressional district.
Democrat Eddie Egriu is also vying for the seat.
The committee also nominated state Senator Tim Kennedy in his bid for re-election.
