Anti-violence groups in Buffalo have a new satellite location on Buffalo's East Side thanks to the Bailey-Green Initiative.

Organizations like Stop the Violence Coalition, Buffalo Peacemakers, and SNUG will be headquartered out of a new home on Kilhoffer Street in the new year.

The home was a donation by the Bailey-Green Initiative.

The community-led partnership was spearheaded by Harmac Medical Products, Inc. and aims to improve and support the Bailey-Genesee neighborhood on the East Side.

The master plan includes building new homes and green spaces around the company’s headquarters where many employees of the company live.

Pastor James Giles of the Buffalo Peacemakers says the new partnership will help transform a community that has been challenged by violence.

"We want to make sure the elements that tend to tear down our neighborhoods does not set up its post up here," said Giles. "That means drug dealing, gambling, parties all kinds of nights, riot behavior, and conduct. So we want to marshal that.”

$100,000 was raised to renovate the home that is set to open in March.

In addition to being a hub for anti-violence groups, educational and youth mentoring programs will be made available to community members in the area.
