Erie County's Opiate Epidemic Task Force played host Tuesday to leaders from five other counties across the nation.
The purpose of the visit was to share information about the group's partnerships and programs to combat the opioid crisis.
The meeting comes as the number of confirmed opioid related overdose deaths now stands at 85, with 50 cases still pending.
The task force also rolled out its new naloxone emergency kits to be placed anywhere large groups of people might need it, including restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and colleges.
Compare that to 191 confirmed cases last year, as leaders say they remain hopeful to continue the yearly decline.
The National Association of Counties partnered with the Department of Justice to coordinate the visit.
Leaders from Ohio, Oregon, Georgia, Indiana, and Florida will spend the next few days observing various initiatives and taking part in panel discussions.
"Hope they'll be able to take home some ideas of innovations, things they can implement back home in their own home counties," said Nastassia Walsh, National Association of Counties Associate Program director for justice.
On Wednesday, the visiting county leaders will observe the opioid treatment court and meet with its judges.
