Two people died Saturday following an incident in Fort Erie on the Niagara River. 

Emergency crews responded to the area near Jarvis Street and Niagara Boulevard Friday for reports of three people in the water struggling.

Investigators said a 29-year-old woman and child were pulled from the water and taken to the hospital, where the woman died. Divers also located the body of the third person identified as Joshawa Raymond Douglas Brooks.

Police are still looking into what led up to their deaths. 

The child remains in stable condition at the hospital, according to investigators.
