The top nine designs for the Aim for the Sky competition to replace or reimagine the Skyway were revealed Monday at Resurgence Brewery.
Some of the ideas in the running include turning the Skyway into an upscale restaurant, or a beach, while others would remove the structure altogether.
The finalists include:
- Skyway 2.0
- Skyway Riverloop
- City of Lights
- Queen City Harbor
- Highways to Parkways
- Olmsted Parkway
- Sapphire Necklace
- Vision for Skyway Corridor
- Buffalo UP
The top 16 designs were put on display at the Buffalo Public Library earlier this month.
The finalists will have to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges and a live audience on Tuesday.
The winner of the competition will receive $100,000.
