Crisis counselors were made available to students at City Honors Middle School in Buffalo after a teacher was charged with inappropriately touching students.

The U.S Attorney's Office said Peter Hingston used a GoPro to record students in an inappropriate way. Hingston is a technology teacher at the school and has been on leave since the investigation started in June.

Investigators say they received 24 inappropriate videos of Hingston using students "in a sexually explicit manner." He's also accused of exposing himself to students.

Investigators said the arrest was possible because several students had the courage to speak up.

"I commend them for their bravery and coming forward and I commend them for their actions that have protected other students and helped save future students from future abuses from happening," James Kennedy, Jr., U.S. Attorney, Western District New York said.

Hingston faces multiple charges including child pornography and sexual exploitation of a child. If convicted, he faces up to 40 years in prison.

Buffalo Public Schools said student safety is its first priority and it's inexcusable for any staff to endanger or harm children in anyway.
