A man went over Niagara Falls early Tuesday morning and survived.

Niagara Parks Police were called to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls for a person in crisis around 4 a.m.

Authorities said the man climbed the retaining wall, jumped into the river and was swept over the falls.

The man was found sitting on rocks in the lower Niagara River basin below the Journey Behind the Falls observation platform.

He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
