A former Erie County executive is now taking over operations at a local cab company.

Joel Giambra has been named the chief operations officer of Liberty Cab. 

Giambra has previously been an adviser to the company.

He said one of the areas they're focusing on is professionalizing drivers to enhance the customer experience.  

Bill Yuhnke will remain on as president and founder.
