Weekends at Canalside just got a lot more fun.

The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Children's Museum is now open on Saturdays and Sundays. Although the museum isn't finished yet, there are still plenty of activities.

Exhibits showcase all-things Western New York including local agriculture, architecture and waterways. Once the museum is fully open, there will be classes and studios where kids can build and explore.

"There's some higher technical stuff that's still being fine-tuned and those are gonna be revealed, so more to be revealed but there's so much to see and do," said Children's Museum Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Jeannine Weber Kahabka. "People are loving it and we don't want to keep the public at bay. We're gonna work on it on the weekdays and have the construction crews in at those times and then have the families in on the weekends to come and play."

Tickets for a weekend trip to the museum are available online.

The museum is expected to fully open in a couple weeks.
