Sabres Coach Phil Housley is out after just two seasons and some fans are stunned and hoping it won't affect the team next season.

The Sabres got off to a great start this season, with the team even winning 10 straight games. Then things began to slow down for the team.

"Everybody makes mistakes. I know on that 10 game win something changed after that run for all the wins," said Sabres fan, Bob Kamholz.

Just 24 hours before Housley was let go on Sunday, he told members of the media he was confident he would keep his job.

"Coaching is everything. If you have that many good young players not performing, there needs to be a change somewhere and it's always at the top,” said Sabres fan, Frank Abraszek.

Fans now await the announcement of the team's next head coach.
