For a sports mascot, sometimes it feels like the weight of an entire fan base rests on your shoulders.
For Billy Buffalo, the Bills’ high-energy mascot, it's a job too big for just one Buffalo.
"Billy is very busy throughout the year,” said Shaena Kersher, the Bills’ director of marketing. “He obviously does a lot on game day, but he's always at our Bills events, training camp, draft parties. We need a whole stable of people to be Billy.”
The deadline for applications passed last week with more than 500 people from around the world submitting their resumes and crossing their fingers for a chance to wear the blue suit.
Only 15-20 applicants will have a chance to vie for the job.
Spectrum News reporter Mike Arena wanted to see if he had the right stuff for the job and ran through the paces with Billy, including attempting a field goal and firing the ever-popular T-shirt gun. Watch the video above to see how he did.
