Buffalo's West Side has a new business specializing in a retro form of entertainment.
Gather & Game opened on Grant Street in mid-February.
It's a board game café, giving people a chance and a place to play games, spend time together and get a bite to eat.
Although the shop offers classics like Monopoly and Risk, it features new games too, ones that appeal to younger generations.
The store's owner says board games have regained popularity in recent years since they bring people together in ways technology just can't.
“People’s desire to connect and spend time together, and to do it in a setting that’s fun and energetic, has really fueled a boom in game development,” said Joe Petri.
This isn't Petri's first business venture, or his first business in Buffalo.
He also owns Westside Stories Used Books and started selling games there before opening gather and game across the street.
