Former state Senator George Maziarz has released discovery material from his own political corruption case he says points to wrongdoing by some of his former colleagues.

Maziarz ultimately pleaded down from five felony charges to one misdemeanor last year.

But in the process of defending himself he received material and testimony he says points to separate cases of bid-rigging and a pass-through scheme to circumvent campaign finance rules.

The people who should be investigated he says are two former GOP chairs, Henry Wojtaszek and Mike Norris.

"I know that some will call me bitter. Some will say I'm trying to settle some score. Nothing can be further from the truth,” Maziarz (R) said. "I think that investigators from the AG's office and the FBI, when they saw everything that was going on here, they thought to themselves, some of this money has to be going back to George Maziarz, it has to be going back to George Maziarz because he was so close. I think that they were shocked when they found out that just the opposite was the truth."

In a statement Wojtaszek called the claims "baseless" and said they've already been dismissed by the state attorney grievance committee, saying, “George Maziarz is using his former title to manipulate the media to do his political dirty work for him, since the legal system has rejected his false accusations."

An attorney for Norris notes prosecutors at all levels had access to this information and never pursued charges.
