Americans are expected to spend about $2 billion on flowers for Valentine’s Day, the biggest flower buying day of the year.

That means it’s all hands on deck at Graser's in Buffalo, where the company is sending out more than 500 arrangements and more than 5,000 red roses.

The owner said although the holiday itself is stressful for florists, the days and weeks leading up to today are even more hectic.

”It starts several weeks ago when we make sure we have enough glassware in -- the baskets the foam the foliages, the greenery,” said Carolyn Graser. “Making sure we have out flowers ordered. Then getting our flowers in — it takes two or three days to condition the flowers before we even start to touch them. And making sure you got your rental vans and candy in and teddy bears priced and all that good stuff. So it takes us a little bit.”

Completely forgot to pre-order flowers? Don’t fret: Graser’s has pre-made arrangements for last-minute orders.
