Non-profit agency HEAL International is celebrating a decade of welcoming new Americans to Western New York. The organization bridges the cultural divide for new arrivals, living up to their name and mission of helping everyone achieve livelihood.

"We try to help them understand what they can achieve in education as well as a career," said HEAL Executive Director Douglas Klotzbach.

Buffalo ranks third in the state for English language learners. It's an issue the organization hopes to improve at their newly purchased building on West Ferry Street where they plan to continue their services for the refugee community.

"Buffalo is the City of Good Neighbors", added Vice President, Abdul-Rahman Farah. "We've worked tirelessly with local government and city government to educate and help our communities to access what they need."

The offices on West Ferry Road are slated to open this summer.
