The co-founder of Tim Hortons has died.
Ron Joyce passed away Thursday at his home in Burlington, Ontario, according to the Canadian Press.
Joyce invested in the first Tim Hortons shop in Hamilton in 1964, but that was just the beginning of him spreading smiles across North America. In 1975, after his business partner and the company's namesake died, Joyce started the Tim Horton Children's Foundation.
Each year, it sends underprivileged children to one of several company camps.
The organization will send more than 19,000 kids to camp in 2019.
Joyce was 88.
