Kevin Lockwood, Kevin Bennett, Danny Garcia and Nick PufPaff hit the road every weekend.

The four independent wrestlers, known as the "Buffalo Brothers," travel to tournaments across the U.S. and Canada.

After wrestling Saturday night in Montreal, their car hit black ice and crashed in Batavia Sunday morning.

"My head smashed through the window, so I was out for the whole thing, pretty much," Lockwood said.

Lockwood sustained a concussion and broke his ankles. Garcia broke both of his legs.

A friend started a GoFundMe page Sunday afternoon, and it quickly took off thanks, in part, to WWE wrestlers sharing it on social media.

"There's a great sense of community and brotherhood and family and it's really cool," Lockwood said.

Garcia says the Buffalo Brothers are best friends, motivated by their love of wrestling and the goal of making it a successful career.

For now, they wrestle more for exposure than money, while putting thousands of miles on their cars.

It’s a constant commitment to their craft and to each other.

"I see them multiple times a week at the gym, at training, at shows, I've spent countless amount of hours with them through wrestling and not through wrestling, just like going out to eat, going to see a movie, but mostly just bonding with each other," Garcia said.

They were all scheduled to participate in the Empire State Wrestling event at St. Johnsburg Fire Hall in Wheatfield on January 19.

They still plan to be in attendance.

"Hopefully I'll at least get out in front of the crowd and say something and say some thank yous," Lockwood said.
