Police have arrested the man who they say set his ex-girlfriend on fire Monday.
Jonathon White, 28, of Tonawanda was charged with a number of crimes including second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and first-degree arson.
Authorities say White lured Jessica Cameron to a secluded area outside the Tim Hortons on Niagara Street in the city of Tonawanda where she worked. They say he doused her with an accelerant and set her on fire.
She was taken to the hospital with third-degree burns. He was also burned in the encounter.
"This is a horiffic case," said Erie County District Attorney John Flynn. "Domestic violence will not be tolerated in this community. We should take this opportunity to remind families and friends of victims that there are resources to help them. We are prosecuting the defendant to the fullest extent possible."
White's preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 27th in Tonawanda City Court.
Cameron is in a medically-induced coma while she recovers. Their three young children are in the custody of a relative.
