In a crowd of red, white and zubaz, one fan stands out in his pancho and sombrero.

Despite being from Texas, Pancho Billa — real name Ezra Castro — is a member of Bills Mafia and a well-known fan to all.

So for the Buffalo Hall of Fame Experience, it wasn't a hard decision to induct Pancho as the first fan to the Fan Wall of Fame.

"Respectfully there's a lot of super-fans and Bills Mafia members that can easily be up here instead of me, and I'm just truly honored on this surprise recognition, I seriously thought I'd win the lottery before anything like this. But truly it's quite an honor," said Pancho Billa.

Other fans gathered to congratulate Pancho on the accomplishment, even getting a special phone call from former sportscaster Chris Berman for the occasion.

Pancho, who's been battling cancer, was cleared by his doctors to make the trip for this event. Through it all, his girlfriend Veronica has been by his side. She says the support from Buffalo and the fans has only helped make him stronger.

"It's just so humbling to be awarded this, especially with the circumstances of what's going on at home, with him, with his diagnosis, but he's taking it all in and this actually helps him continue to fight, it gives him more positivity and more oomph to keep going and he's fighting not just for us, his family, his kids, but he's also fighting for the Bills, the fans because he wants to show a big positive attitude toward beating cancer and that's what we're doing," said Veronica Vorjon, Pancho Billa's girlfriend.

Pancho's spot on the Fan Wall of Fame will be a permanent display at the Buffalo Hall of Fame Experience, that's currently raising funds for its future location. Donations and fan nominations can be made on their website.

And as Bills fans have proved, no matter where you root for your team, Buffalo is home.

"I hope those that follow me feel the same way when they get their opportunity to be placed on this wall, and I thank the Buffalo Hall of Fame Experience for this opportunity and I thank my family for all the support they've given me and the Bills fans across the world for the love and the outpouring of support they've shown me. It truly means the world to me," said Pancho.

"It could be 30 or zero degrees, but you feel the love and warmth here in Buffalo," said Vorjon.
