AUSTIN, Texas — Steve Adler has been re-elected as mayor of Austin.
According to the Travis County Clerk, Adler grabbed 61 percent of the vote. Adler was first sworn in as mayor in 2015.
A total of seven candidates challenged Adler in the race for mayor. His closest opponent, former City Councilor Laura Morrison, received, 19 percent of the vote. Gustavo “Gus” Peña received 10 percent.
Morrison conceded to Adler Tuesday night, shortly after polls closed.
Candidate Todd Phelps received 6 percent of the vote, and Travis Duncan received 2 percent of the vote. Both Alexander Strenger and Alan Pease received less than 1 percent of the vote.
