A second Chick-fil-A could be coming to Cheektowaga.

Town officials said a developer has submitted plans to the town's building department for Chick-fil-A at the corner of Transit and Losson.

The town supervisor said it's the same engineering firm that submitted plans for the area's first Chick-fil-A that is being built at the former Famous Dave's on Walden Avenue. Construction is underway and it's expected to open later this year.

If the second site is approved, the town says Cheektowaga would be the first municipality in the state to have two Chick-fil-A locations.

"They have found an interest in Cheektowaga. So have many retail spaces. Cheektowaga is a great place not only to live and raise a family. And we're going to create more jobs and yes it's a fast food restaurants, but people seem to love those fast food restaurants, especially Chick-fil-A," said councilmember Jim Rogowski.

A Chick-fil-A spokesperson said although they're interested in more locations in Cheektowaga, they cannot confirm this second location at this time.
