AMHERST, N.Y. —The Amherst Chuck E. Cheese could lose its gaming license if it doesn't make changes — and quick.
In the last three years, there have been 126 police calls to that location, many of them for violent fights.
Representatives with Chuck E. Cheese met with town leaders last week and are now working to make some changes.
They include reducing the total capacity, upgrading security cameras and hiring private security to monitor the business on nights and weekends.
So far, these proposals are keeping town leaders from pulling the plug on that license
"We have their attention now. They know that if there are problems that should have been prevented or are preventable, we will follow up and take a look at revoking their license,” said Amherst Town Councilwoman Jacqualine Berger.
In a statement, an attorney for the company said in part that he feels that they're making progress with the town and working towards keeping the business open.
Leaders with Chuck E. Cheese will be providing updates to the entire town board on Monday, July 9.
The state liquor authority is also investigating this location's liquor license.
