SAN ANTONIO – A barbecue pit too close to a home led to a fire overnight on Thursday causing $100,000 in damage.
The barbecue pit initially caught the overhang of the house on fire, which residents put out with a garden hose before going to bed.
Hours later, the fire was still smoldering in the attic of the house around 12:05 a.m.
Firefighters were able to get everyone out of the house safely.
