BUFFALO, N.Y. — A new app that launched in Buffalo will compete with ride-hailing, the difference is customers will be in the comfort of their own car.
Designated Drivers of Buffalo, a service that had been around for 10 years, launched their own app this week.
The service can be used one of two ways: the on-demand designated driver can pick you and your car up after a night out, or a personal chauffeur service is available for the day.
CEO Michael Mulè says this service gives more people comfort of being in their own cars.
"We primarily focus on a lot of corporate, a lot of people that enjoy being out in their car, they want to be out in their cars. This gives them the ability to do that and then still find a safe solution and a safe ride home," said Mulè.
The app is currently being operated just in Buffalo, but they hope to launch in Rochester soon and eventually other cities.
